Waregem is the third in a series of twelve newbuild midsize 38,000m³ LPG carriers, and has been built at Hanjin's Mipo shipyard in Ulsan, South-Korea. As with her sisterships, the newbuild is equipped with a number of energy-saving innovations, and is capable of being powered by alternative fuels.

The LPG Midsize LPG/NH3 - 38,000 m3 newbuild Waasmunster  is named at the port of Zeebrugge, marking the delivery of the first of a series of  ultra-modern midsize LPG vessels to be delivered from Hanjin's Mipo shipyard in Ulsan in Korea and the Hanjin Subic Bay shipyard in the Philippines. The vessels are capable of operating with alternative fuels and are equipped with a number of energy-saving innovations
