FSRU EEMSHAVEN LNG

September 2022

EemsEnergy Terminal is officially inaugurated in the presence of Dutch Minister of Climate and Energy Rob Jetten, Prime Minister Petr Fiala of the Czech Republic, the Executive Board of Gasunie EXMAR’s Chairman Nicolas Saverys and CEO Francis Mottrie. The first LNG tanker also arrived this day.

Record time

Despite geopolitical instability, the EemsEnergyTerminal was completed in an impressively short timeframe. In less than 6 months, EXMAR’s FSRU S-188 (renamed EEMSHAVEN) was modified, mobilized, and installed on-site. EXMAR’s dedication and agility in successfully contributing to this project have set an industry example of what can be achieved through strong partnerships. Their ability to rapidly deliver this critical energy infrastructure is a testament to their expertise and responsiveness. EXMAR’s Floating Storage Regasification Units (FSRUs), such as the Eemshaven LNG terminal, have proven to be a reliable and effective solution for enhancing energy security. These flexible and adaptable facilities play a vital role in ensuring the reliable supply of natural gas, even in the face of geopolitical challenges.

A Proven Solution for Energy Security

Incoming LNG ships tranship their LNG to FSRU EEMSHAVEN where LNG is brought to gaseous state and feed into Gasunie’s gas pipeline network.
