EEMSENERGYTERMINAL extension making steady progress

EXMAR is pleased to announce that its customer, EemsEnergyTerminal (a subsidiary of Gasunie and Vopak) has taken conditional final investment decision after securing a significant portion of the offered capacity of the terminal. The final investment decision (FID) by the shareholders will follow once the necessary permits have been obtained.

With this important milestone the extension of the EemsEnergyTerminal for the period 2028–2036 is progressing steadily.

EXMAR is advancing with the conversion works for the new Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU) as communicated in April 2026, while it continues with the regular operations of the EEMSHAVEN LNG.

The planned extension will enable the import of 8.6 bcm of natural gas per year, which corresponds to approximately 25% of the annual Dutch gas demand.
