The EXMAR Group is currently looking for an HSEQ Officer to reinforce the EXMAR Shipmanagement HSEQ team in Antwerp, HQ.
Your role in the team
The HSEQ Officer reports directly to the Head of HSEQ.
The HSEQ department liaises with and supports the Business Units Infrastructure and Shipping with specialized knowledge on Health, Safety, Security, Environment, Energy and Quality aspects of processes and routines, focussing on both compliance and continuous improvement and including Safety Management System development and maintenance, performance monitoring, follow up on legislation and other requirements, and internal and external reporting.
Your responsibilities and tasks include
- Working office-based in Antwerp to ensure HSEQ requirements are integrated in the SMS and throughout the organisation;
- Executing the Company (HSEQ) strategy, setting objectives and conducting performance monitoring of relevant processes, and contributing to regular reviews of the Management System;
- Development and review of management system procedures, addressing relevant (changes to) rules, regulations and/or client-specific requirements;
- Research HSEQ and Marine related topics and participate in HSEQ related projects to provide guidance to the office and the fleet;
- Conducting internal audits both on board and in Company offices;
- Delivery of training or coaching sessions to both internal and external parties.
Your profile
- Bachelor or Master degree in Nautical Sciences, Marine Engineering or equivalent;
- Sailing experience in the oil & gas sector is an advantage;
- Knowledge of relevant rules, regulations and industry standards;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook;
- Eager to work in a multicultural environment, interacting and communicating with different internal and external stakeholders in an international context;
- Ability to work in an organized and structured manner;
- Able to anticipate on problems, drive (changes to) processes and follow up on the achievement of objectives and expected outcomes;
- Excellent communication skills are a must. You are fluent in written and spoken English. Knowledge of other languages is an advantage;
- Based in Belgium with a valid work permit;
- Flexibility for occasional ad hoc travel abroad.
