Management Traineeship – EXMAR Navigator Program (Antwerp, Belgium)

About the Traineeship

EXMAR’s Navigator Program (ENP) is a 2-year rotational and cross-department program, specifically designed for high-potential early-career professionals who want to develop a broad organizational understanding and build foundational skills to support their long-term career growth within EXMAR.

Over the course of two years, you’ll dive deep into the heart of EXMAR’s business:

  • Shipmanagement                                                                                    
    • Learn what it takes to run an asset from bow to stern; collaborate across departments, dive into the world of maritime asset management and gain hands-on exposure onboard a vessel or in drydock.
  • Shipping Operations & Chartering                                                       
    • Step into the heart of shipping by immersing yourself in the chartering business; learn all about charter parties, dive into economic and strategic drivers shaping the shipping market and become actively involved in operating 1-2 ships.
  • Infrastructure & Technical                                                                      
    • Support major Infrastructure projects and gain hands-on experience in commercial processes from tendering to contract management, reporting and follow-up. Trainees with a technical Engineering background can participate in technical project management by actively supporting a Project Manager and contributing to key technical project activities.
  • Supporting Services – Finance, Legal & HR                                      
    • Actively support key financial processes, participate in legal operations by assisting with contract management and learning all about compliance and corporate governance, and gain comprehensive insight into the entire employee lifecycle – from onboarding to performance management and ongoing development.

Trainee Profile

We’re looking for motivated and ambitious early-career professionals who are ready to broaden their horizons, embrace new challenges, and grow within EXMAR:

  • Foundation profile
    • Master’s degree or equivalent; strong academic foundation
    • 23 to 30-year-olds with early career experience in diverse backgrounds
    • Strong business interest and affinity for our sector and operations
    • Fluent in English; Dutch or French is an advantage
  • Competencies & mindset
    • High-potential profile: strong learning agility for accelerated development
    • Global perspective: Open to work across geographies; thrives in diverse and international environments
    • Leadership potential: Shows capability to grow into leadership roles
