Leading innovations in midsize LPG vessels (20,000 – 40,000 m³)
EXMAR has one of the most modern midsize LPG fleets in the world. The newest additions to the fleet (38000m3 LPG Carriers Waasmunster, Warinsart, Waregem, and Warisoulx) incorporate energy-efficient hull designs, the latest ballast water treatment and scrubber systems as well as engine and deck designs capable of being retrofitted to run on alternative fuels. Delivered between May 2014 and January 2015 from the Hyundai Mipo yard in Ulsan, Korea the four newbuilds are all trading under time charters with first class customers. The 38000m3 LPG/C Kaprijke has been delivered in September 2015 from Hanjin shipyard in Subic Bay as the fifth new midsize vessel, the first of its kind to be built in the Philippines. Seven newbuilds of the same class will be added to the EXMAR LPG fleet by 2018.
EXMAR has lead the way in LPG midsize vessel innovations since it first designed and built the Tielrode at the Boelwerf yard in 1983, pioneering no less than 6 separate ship designs in this class over the last thirty years.
