EXMAR joins Belgian Economic Mission to India, led by her Royal Highness Princess Astrid of Belgium

Joining the Belgian Economic Mission to India

In March, team EXMAR was honored to be part of the Belgian Economic Mission to India, led by her Royal Highness Princess Astrid of Belgium. Belgium’s leading companies were invited to join, and our CEO Carl-Antoine Saverys contributed to a panel on green hydrogen, — highlighting how accelerating the energy transition is a shared ambition for both nations.

Ammonia as the green hydrogen energy transition

We are proud to be part of this Belgo-Indian week, further strengthening the deep-rooted ties between our two countries that span over more than three decades:

➡️ For over 30 years, EXMAR SHIP MANAGEMENT INDIA PVT. LTD has trained and recruited skilled Indian seafarers to operate our vessels and support the global shipping industry.
➡️ Over the same period, we have transported tens of millions of tons of LPG and ammonia, playing a role in India’s economic growth and energy security.

This economic mission reaffirms our commitment to India, particularly as we look toward the future of green hydrogen. Over the next 30 years, green hydrogen in the form of ammonia—produced with India’s vast solar and wind resources—will make its way to Belgium and Europe. It is our ambition to transport this clean energy on EXMAR vessels, bridging continents in the pursuit of a more sustainable world.

We look forward to building on the connections made during this mission, fostering innovation, and strengthening the bridge between Belgium and India.
