The EXMAR Group is currently looking for an Operations Director to join our team in Paris (France). In this role, you will collaborate closely with our headquarters in Antwerp (Belgium), for which occasional travel to Antwerp will be required.
Your role in the team
As an Operations Director, you will oversee the shipping operation of the LPG vessels, ensuring optimal performance and further growth of EXMAR’s market position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a commercial strategy to optimize fleet performance;
- Pursue new opportunities in the market;
- Supervise the day-to-day ship operations (e.g. ensure accessible and timely process of all orders for execution of contracts; follow-up on performance claims received from charterers; optimize vessel performance; execute physical inspections on board of the fleet; …)
- Ensure optimal employment of the fleet;
- Control vessel budgets.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in shipping operations including sailing experience on tanker vessels with preference for gas tankers or experience in other relevant positions in shipping industry.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office & Voyage Management Systems.
- Extensive knowledge of shipping industry (nautical, commercial, legal and technical aspects).
- Knowledge of negotiation techniques, market research, general project management principles.
- Ability to take effective and efficient operational and commercial decisions quickly.
- Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proficient in both written and spoken English and French.
