The EXMAR Group is currently looking for a Chartering Manager to reinforce to reinforce the Shipping team in Antwerp, HQ.

Your role in the team

As a Chartering Manager, you will commercially manage the existing fleet and to drive new business opportunities both within existing and new gas carrier and tanker vessel segments to support its longer-term gas shipping strategy, valorise potential opportunities and limit potential damages.

Key Responsibilities:

• Commercial management: secure vessel employment, maintain overview of market conditions, assist in new building projects,…;
• Identify & assess new business opportunities with strong commercial potential;
• Develop & maintain relationships with key customar base & with key shipbroker base;
• Lead commercial proposal development and coordinate input from internal teams;
• Negotiate commercial contracts in view of beneficial business;
• Process any claim type (dispute management).

Requirements:

• Bachelor or Master degree in Nautical Sciences or other relevant education;
• 5 years of experience in a relevant commercial position;
• You are able to cope with falling markets, aggressive competition and challenging customers;
• You are able to form and (if necessary) lead multidisciplinary teams within the organization on ad-hoc basis;
• You are able to apply creative, out-of-the-box thinking to uncover and capture potential opportunities;
• Extensive knowledge of the Shipping economics & contractual negotiations;
• Good knowledge of World Economics, Shipping Operations, Marketing & Strategy;
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
