The EXMAR Group is currently looking for a Business Development Manager to reinforce the EXMAR Shipmanagement team in Antwerp, HQ.

Your role in the team

As a Business Development Manager, you will identify new business opportunities, maintain a commercial strategy, drive revenue growth for our Shipmanagement services, in order to enhance EXMAR Shipmanagement’s market presence and expand our client base.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare a commercial strategy and further develop the marketing and sales strategy to position EXMAR ship management; 
• Identify, assess and discuss commercial opportunities, with clients or project partners;
• Develop & write commercial proposals (with support of internal resources);
• Negotiate commercial contracts and regularly follow-up with the clients (potential or existing);
• Closely monitor market trends and contact clients or other market actors on a regular basis and provide regular briefings to the Managing Director & Business Unit Director at Ship Management.

Requirements:

• Master degree with economical or scientific background;
• 5 years of experience in a commercial position in shipping industry, preferably in ship management or related floating asset management;
• You are able to convince clients with a unique offer;
• You are able to quickly understand clients’ requirements (and reasoning) in order to offer them an interesting solution;
• You are able to perform commercial discussions which often involve technical details;
• You are able to manage different stages of the business development process at the same time for several projects;
• Extensive knowledge of ship management and shipping operations;
• Good knowledge of negotiation techniques, market research and general project management principles;
• Basic knowledge of shipping, marine/offshore oil & gas market;
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Dutch.
