Nicolas Saverys is the Executive Chairman of EXMAR NV, a position he has held since April 2020, having previously served as CEO of the company. In this role, he has played a central part in transforming EXMAR from a small shipyard subsidiary in the early 1980s into a leading independent gas shipowning company and a provider of integrated infrastructure solutions across the oil & gas value chain, responding to the industry’s demand for environmentally conscious and competitively priced energy solutions.

For nearly twenty years, he served as Chairman of the Royal Belgian Shipowners Association, where he was instrumental in revitalising the Belgian ship register and driving significant growth in the national fleet. Nicolas Saverys also serves as Chairman of Bureau Veritas SA (Belgium).

Widely recognised for his strategic vision and long‑standing commitment to the maritime sector, Mr Saverys continues to guide EXMAR’s governance and strategic direction as it navigates evolving global energy and shipping markets.
