{"id":11742,"date":"2026-10-09T13:40:16","date_gmt":"2026-10-09T11:40:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/exmar.com\/?post_type=vacancies&#038;p=11742"},"modified":"2026-10-09T13:40:19","modified_gmt":"2026-10-09T11:40:19","slug":"accountant-antwerp-belgium","status":"publish","type":"vacancies","link":"https:\/\/exmar.com\/en\/vacancies\/accountant-antwerp-belgium\/","title":{"rendered":"Accountant (Antwerp, Belgium)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The EXMAR Group is currently looking for an accountant to reinforce the EXMAR Accounting &amp; Consolidation team in Antwerp, HQ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Your role in the team<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To support the accounting of Belgian subsidiaries of the EXMAR Group in order to make sure the Group and its subsidiaries comply with the applicable accounting standards and requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Your responsibilities and tasks include<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Carry out daily bookkeeping tasks (posting invoices, recording bank statements, maintaining ledger accounts)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare figures for monthly\/quarterly <strong>closing<\/strong> by performing closing procedures and reviewing trial balances (incl. analytical review and account reconciliations).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist the audit team during reviews by providing support documentation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take care of <strong>ledger accounts<\/strong> including follow-up of administration (fixed assets, lube oil, provisions and accruals), registration of cashbooks and ensuring correct registration in the accounting software.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take care of <strong>clients &amp; suppliers administration<\/strong> incl. preparation\/ registration\/ filing\/ follow-up of outgoing\/incoming invoices, follow-up of unpaid receivables and balances.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take care of <strong>tax declaration<\/strong> (incl. monthly VAT, yearly customer listing) and assist with corporate income tax administration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform monthly\/quarterly <strong>intercompany reconciliations<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upload figures in the <strong>consolidation<\/strong> software.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare <strong>quarterly information<\/strong> in accordance with the group instructions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare <strong>yearly statutory accounts<\/strong> and ensure timely filing of annual accounts at NBB.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Your profile<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bachelor Accountancy;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar position;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are able to respect internal\/external reporting deadlines;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are able to support the senior accountant in the periodic closing figures;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Good knowledge of Belgian General Accepted Accounting Principles and VAT;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Extensive knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel in particular);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fluent in written and spoken English and Dutch.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Our offer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At \u00a0EXMAR, you operate in a very international, dynamic and, innovative environment.
