{"id":10340,"date":"2026-03-12T09:06:40","date_gmt":"2026-03-12T09:06:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/exmar.com\/?post_type=vacancies&#038;p=10340"},"modified":"2026-03-12T09:06:40","modified_gmt":"2026-03-12T09:06:40","slug":"technical-superintendent-antwerp-belgium","status":"publish","type":"vacancies","link":"https:\/\/exmar.com\/en\/vacancies\/technical-superintendent-antwerp-belgium\/","title":{"rendered":"Technical Superintendent (Antwerp, Belgium)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The EXMAR Group is currently looking for a Technical Superintendent to reinforce the EXMAR Shipmanagement Infrastructure team in Antwerp, HQ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Your role in the team<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Technical Superintendent is responsible for the safe, efficient and compliant day-to-day operations of the assigned assets and assists in the development of new infrastructure projects within the discipline of asset conversion, asset commissioning and overall technical support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This role technically manages and supports the assigned assets in order to operate them in a safe, technically reliable and efficient condition so to be compliant with statutory and class requirements, applicable rules and standards set by the industry or the client.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The TSI reports to the Head of Fleet Management Infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Your responsibilities and tasks include<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Deliver technical expertise to projects, including vessel conversions and commissioning of new or modified assets;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide daily technical support to assigned assets, overseeing maintenance planning, procurement, corrective actions, and monitoring technical performance and environmental efficiency.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Guide and support onboard staff to ensure safe and efficient technical operations, while monitoring performance and development and providing technical instructions to both onboard crew and relevant shore-based teams;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure assets operate in line with statutory, class and industry requirements, as well as technical standards, both set by the company and owner, including executing asset inspections;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare repair specifications, evaluate yard proposals, and coordinate dry-docks as main contact person for all stakeholders;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promote safe, efficient and environmentally responsible operations and ensure compliance with the Safety Management System.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare and monitor technical budgets and approve requisitions, purchase orders, and invoices;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Act as emergency duty manager and participate in the fleet\u2019s emergency response team;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lead technical aspects of new assets take-overs and follow up on guarantee claims.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Your profile<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You hold a <strong>technical degree<\/strong> (e.g. Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field), or have equivalent experience gained through years of hands-on work in the maritime industry<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Minimum 3 years of experience in a technical project management position in the maritime industry or 1 year sailing experience as a second engineer or Chief engineer;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Good knowledge of maritime rules and regulations, maritime machinery and systems and safe working practices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong technical expertise and understanding of marine systems, electrical, and power installations, as well as maintenance methodologies;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to manage complex technical projects with a multidisciplinary team on board and ashore;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to identify the safest, most cost-effective solution in high-pressure situations (e.g. emergencies) and ensure clear alignment with all stakeholders;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to analyse and anticipate for technical problems by coordinating information from multiple sources;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are flexible with regards to travelling; with regular vessel visits to stay connected to the operational reality of your assets.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are based in Belgium or hold a work permit that is valid in the EU;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fluent in written and spoken English.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Our offer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At &nbsp;EXMAR you operate a very international, dynamic and, innovative environment.
