EXMAR Group is seeking a Chartering Manager to join our team in Paris, France. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our headquarters in Antwerp, Belgium, and occasional travel to Antwerp will be required.
Your role in the team
As a Chartering Manager, you will commercially manage the existing fleet, evaluate short- and medium-term market prospects, and develop the strategies needed to support EXMAR’s long-term gas shipping objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a commercial strategy to optimize fleet performance;
- Follow up closely with existing and potential (new) clients (i.e. following up commercially on chartering contracts; maintaining client relationships; assessing business opportunities;…);
- Report on shipping market trends, fleet utilization, and overall performance status;
- Monitor market dynamics and adapting chartering strategies in response to changing conditions;
- Prepare commercial proposals and coordinating internal teams to support various offers.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Economics or Nautical Sciences.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a commercial role, ideally within the shipping industry.
- Excellent communication, networking, and negotiation abilities.
- Proven skills in commercial and client relationship management.
- Strong analytical capabilities with a focus on market trends and identifying business opportunities.
- Ability to design and execute strategic commercial initiatives.
- Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proficient in both written and spoken English and French.
- Knowledge of the offshore oil and gas market is an advantage.
